I bought this machine because I've wanted a Minc for a while. Since American Crafts produces Minc products, and I've heard nothing but great things, I had really high hopes. Unfortunately, for the price that this machine has ($160) , I am disappointed with the quality of my finished crafts. It does not produce a crisp finish when foiling. I was using a Crofton brand laminator before purchasing the Minc Cinch and the quality was much better on my old machine. I used a new toner cartridge, fresh foil and quality paper, but it only produces clean foiling a fraction of the time.
I'm new to book binding, so I can't really say much about that part of the machine unfortunately.
The machine beeps when pressing the buttons (power, laminator, foil…) which is fine. Although, I would prefer it to be silent. It comes with 2 good size foil sheets, a few toner printed images, a transfer folder, and a binding piece. Basically comes with everything you need to practice/”get the hang” of things for foiling and binding. I really like that because it's super convenient to practice and see what exactly you need in order to use the machine especially if you're new to it all. Usually machines don't come with any of that so it was nice to see that detail and it saves a trip to the store! I also really like that it will fit a 12X12” paper. Also it is not heavy at all! Very lightweight for its capability.
