How does the Web Version of the App Work?

The web app is a slimmed down version of the app, meant mostly for designing on a larger screen. This happens instantly!

As long as you sign into the same account you will have access to the designs and collections you have saved. All collections are saved under “MY COLLECTIONS” on the homepage of your app, you can scroll right to left to navigate through them.

Why is it taking so long to send my design to the printer?

This could be caused by several things:

1. The size of your images. Images with larger resolutions will take longer to send then smaller ones. Try resizing your images before importing onto your canvas.
2. The length of your print. The longer your design, the longer it can take to transfer to the printer.
3. A bad connection. Check that your printer is connected properly, and nearby. A low charge may also affect connectivity.

What size is the printing area?

Height: 5/8ths of an inch, or 1.5 cm
Length: Adjustable in the app up to 16 inches (40 cm)

The printer can also infinitely print your design by selecting the repeat printing option in the print preview!

How long will my ink last?

Based on test printing, your PrintMaker™ Print Cartridge can print approximately 1,000 inches per color for a total of 3,000 inches. If you use one color more than the others your ink cartridge will run out of that color first.

What do I do when ink colors mix together?

Wipe your Printhead with a clean Wipe on the Wiper Handle. If the problem persists you can clear out the Printhead by printing out the solid color bars available by tapping on = HOME > Settings > Diagnostics. It is recommended you set them to print infinitely and print until the colors stop mixing.

What do I do when one ink color is not printing?

It may be that the particular color is out. Based on test printing, your PrintMaker™ Print Cartridge can print approximately 1,000 inches per color for a total of 3,000 inches. If you use one color more than the others your ink cartridge will run out of that color first. Your Print Cartridge can also be dried out. Drying occurs when the PrintMaker™ is left out of the home base for long periods of time or not stored properly. You can resolve this issue by printing out the solid color bars available by tapping on = HOME > Settings > Diagnostics.

Why is my ink smearing, or blotting?

Ink blotting is most commonly caused by pressing down on the PrintMaker™ while printing. No downwards pressure is required for printing. Just lightly glide your printer at a comfortable speed to print.

Ink smearing is most commonly caused by the material you’re printing on. The PrintMaker™ works best on porous, matte surfaces (like paper and fabric) without shiny, slick or reflective surfaces. Using the PrintMaker™ on a shiny or slick surface may cause ink blotting, running, mixing. Prints may also not dry on these surfaces. It is highly encouraged to do a test print on any surface before starting a project.

You may also need to clean your Print Head. To clean attach a wipe to the wiper handle and lightly dab to clean the printhead. Also check inside the home base to make sure no ink has leaked there either.

How do I clean my Print Head?

Attach a wipe to the wiper handle and lightly dab to clean the Print Head. Also check inside the Home Base to make sure no ink has leaked there either. Cleaning is not usually necessary unless you discover ink running or blotting.

What do I do if the Charging Light is flashing?

A flashing Charging Light means there is an issue charging. Double check that your printer is securely locked in Home Base, and that the Charging Cord is securely connected to the Home Base and adapter. Some extension cords or power strips may affect charging as well. You may need to plug directly into a wall outlet.

How do I prevent a thin white line between repeat prints?

Make sure that your pattern starts and ends where the canvas starts and ends. Any white space on your canvas will show up when you print.

Do the Undo & Redo Buttons work infinitely?

No, in order to maximize storage space the undo & redo buttons can take you back or forward 10 steps.

Is printing permanent on fabric?

No, unfortunately we can’t guarantee permanent printing on fabric. We recommend treating fabric with fixatives such as: Modge Podge® Fabric, Retanye™ Color Fixative or Bubble Jet Set® to make printing more permanent.
